Up to 10 hours a week
For a home piano in regular use, tuning twice a year is a good idea. New pianos are generally tuned four times in the first year.
More than 10 hours a week
More frequent tuning is usually necessary. Sunlight, air vents, and temperature or humidity swings can shorten the interval further.
